Vicki Delves has been a driving force in WA sport for more than 30 years.

In honour of her commitment, Vicki was one of three recipients of the prestigious May Campbell Medal honoured recently at the WA Sport Awards function held at Optus Stadium.

Vicki Delves has involved in WA sport for more than 30 years.

This award recognises remarkable dedication and service to sport.  

Vicki’s biggest impact has been in the sport of triathlon. 

A founding member of the City Triathlon Club in 1993, she has held pivotal roles as head coach, TRYStars program coordinator and president.

She also established the Women’s Academy of Triathlon in 1997, which continues to be a beacon for aspiring female triathletes.

Vicki has played a significant role in supporting women’s cycling education sessions and for the Weetbix Triathlon and Women’s Triathlon. She has also been the lead escort rider at Busselton and a long-time marshal at School Sport WA triathlon events.

Vicki has also made a huge impact in school sport, contributions to School Sport WA as a board member, coach, and manager for cross country running and cricket teams. She has also been a member of the WA Course Advisory Committee for Physical Education Studies, helping to shape curriculum standards for future generations.

In recognition of her long-standing contributions, Vicki was also awarded Life Membership of Triathlon WA in 2024.

Vicki Delves was one of the recipients of the prestigious May Campbell Medal. Her husband Gary joined her at the event.

“It is such an honour to receive the award,” she said.

“Sport has always been a part of my life, and I have met the most amazing people along the way who have taught me so many incredible lessons.  

“As a coach, manager and volunteer, you get to be a part of people’s lives and experience their highs, their lows, the challenges and sometimes the heartbreak of injury, performance disappointment or ill-health.  

“Their trust and that bond is the ultimate compliment, and I am forever grateful for that.”
