From schools in the golden fields of the Wheatbelt and red earth of the Pilbara, to bustling metro schools, the finalists for the WA Education Awards 2024 have been announced.
Twenty-one finalists’ hats have been thrown in the ring to be named the top of the class for their leading-edge commitments to ensuring WA students succeed in all facets of their education.
The WA Education Awards highlight the exceptional achievements, dedication, and innovation occurring at WA public schools, and celebrate the important role they play in shaping the outcomes of young people.
This year, the introduction of the ‘excellence in wellbeing and learning’ category presents the opportunity for an additional school to bring home hardware.
This category highlights the great work schools are doing in meeting the wellbeing needs of students and creating environments where every student feels valued and welcome.
There are five other categories that schools are nominated for, including excellence in leadership, teaching and learning (both primary and secondary), cultural responsiveness, and disability and inclusion.
Morawa District High School in the Mid-West, Bob Hawke College, and Lockridge Primary School in Perth were all named finalists in two categories.
There is more information about the WA Education Awards on our website.
