The 2025 Premier’s Reading Challenge kicks off today, a greater prize bucket up for grabs for eager book worms.
This year, Year 11 and 12 students are invited to participate for the first time. They can complete the challenge by logging at least six titles.
Reading can take you anywhere during the 2025 Premier’s Reading Challenge.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 10 still need to read 12 titles.
The challenge runs for 12 weeks. Between the awesome prizes available, and different school engagement opportunities, we hope to encourage even more students to get involved and explore the joys of reading.
Students can log reading in any format to meet their goal, including audiobooks, comics, blogs and graphic novels.
Last year, 54,292 students read an incredible 860,473 books.
We’re keen to improve on those numbers in 2025.
More than 1,000 school staff registered as challenge champions to support readers on their journey. Parents and carers can again register readers and be involved.
Weekly prizes will again be awarded, plus reader and school participation will be recognised at the end of the challenge.
The 2025 challenge ends Friday 27 June.
Registrations are open. For more information, visit the Premier’s Reading Challenge website1.
