Department of Education Communications Director Marie-Anne Keeffe (MAK) was inducted in to the WA Women's Hall of Fame.

The WA Women’s Hall of Fame honours and celebrates the inspiring achievements of women across the state as part of International Women’s Day celebrations.

Established in 2011 in recognition of the centenary of International Women’s Day, this year marked the 15th anniversary year of celebrating the achievements of WA women through the Hall of Fame.

As a dynamic public storyteller and dedicated board member, MAK was recognised for changing lives through community education.

Reflecting on the recognition, MAK said it was emotional to become part of such an esteemed institution recognising WA’s most extraordinary female leaders.

“I am honoured and humbled to stand alongside all of these amazing trailblazers,” she said.

“It provides a great platform for me to continue to tell the stories that matter and keep educating the community on important issues.

“I am hoping it’s a springboard to help me serve others better as it makes me part of an incredible new community of women who will be unstoppable when their superpowers unite.”

From driving awareness of critical health conditions, to spearheading communications at the Department of Education WA, MAK believes education has the power to inspire and transform people of all ages.

MAK is dedicated to strengthening the community through giving, also being a founding director of Breast Cancer Care WA, former general manager of Telethon, and a WA advisory board member for the National Heart Foundation.

“If I can, anyone can! I hope that people see anything and everything is possible, so they should dream their biggest dream and never let anything stand in the way,” MAK said.
