Aboriginal pathways to teaching

Aboriginal pathways to teaching

A range of opportunities exist for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to study in a supportive and empowering university environment.

Meeting ATAR requirements is not the only entry option for a university when considering becoming a qualified teacher. Universities provide a range of alternative pathways to encourage people to take the first step towards a future career in teaching.

University outreach and engagement programs are available to educate and support secondary students. These provide insightful and hands-on opportunities for school leavers considering further education.

We offer a scholarship to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who are completing an undergraduate degree or post-graduate degree in teaching. Find information about our Bob Hawke Aboriginal teacher scholarships1.
