The Premier’s Reading Challenge

The Premier’s Reading Challenge is an annual literacy engagement program. The challenge was established in 2022 to encourage students to read more books, enjoy reading and improve literacy levels.

In 2023, more than 23,200 students, from 811 schools across Western Australia, took part in the Premier’s Reading Challenge.

The 2025 challenge is open to all students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and runs from 7 April to 27 June. 

School staff can also take part by becoming a challenge champion to help encourage students to join in on the reading fun.
