Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse was established in January 2013 to investigate systemic failures of public and private institutions to protect children from child sexual abuse, report abuse and respond to child sexual abuse.
The Royal Commission completed its work in December 2017, releasing its Final Report with 409 recommendations to reform policy, legislation, administration and institutional structures.
On 27 June 2018, the Western Australian Government announced its response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission.
The WA Government’s response to the Royal Commission, and the first report on its progress implementing the recommendations, are available on the Department of the Premier and Cabinet website.
Safer WA for Children and Young People was developed as part of the Western Australian Government's implementation of the recommendations from the Royal Commission and contains support material and advice.
