Deaf education schools, centres and programs

If your child is deaf or hard of hearing, it can take time to determine what form of communication is right for them and what support they need while they are at school.

Support for spoken and signed communication at all stages of your child’s primary and secondary education is provided by the School of Special Educational Needs: Sensory. These services are available to schools across the state.

Specialised deaf education is available at one primary and 2 secondary locations in the metropolitan area:

• Mosman Park School for Deaf Children
• Shenton College Deaf Education Centre
• Belmont City College.
