Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier’s Reading Challenge is an annual literacy engagement program. The challenge was established in 2022 to encourage students to read more books, enjoy reading and improve literacy levels.

In 2023, more than 23,200 students, from 811 schools across Western Australia, took part in the Premier’s Reading Challenge.

The 2024 challenge is open to all students from kindergarten to Year 10.

The mission this year is for students to read 12 books between 6 May to 6 September.

School staff can also take part by becoming a challenge champion to help encourage students to join in on the reading fun.
