Leaders recognised for public sector excellence

Former Director General, Lisa Rodgers PSM, has been awarded a prestigious public sector award for being a responsive, passionate, and innovative leader.
Ms Rodgers took out the Murdoch University Leader of the Year Working in State or Federal Government award at the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) WA Achievement Awards.
The awards recognise individual and organisational excellence in public service and celebrate those who exemplify best practice.
Ms Rodgers was awarded for her dedication to improving the educational outcomes of Western Australian children, which was at the forefront of her leadership and service to public education.
Ms Rodgers is a powerful voice and advocate of reform and is highly committed to student outcomes, connected communities, and effective leadership in schools.
Under her direction, the Department implemented significant policy reforms to ensure all students have access to high-quality learning environments.
The Department of Education was also a silver award winner of the Moore Australia (WA) Award for Best Practice in Collaboration Between Government and any other Organisation.
The Department was one of several organisations recognised for the Year 9 Career Taster Program.
Led by the Department of Training and Workforce Development, the project involves the collaboration of agencies, employers, and industry associations to align school learning with workplace exploration, facilitating industry-led taster experiences.
