The winners of the WA Education Awards for 2023 are…

Today, five public schools were recognised for their excellence in the areas of leadership, disability and inclusion, teaching and learning, and cultural responsiveness.
The work being undertaken across the state by all schools was celebrated at a presentation event at Crown Perth for the 2023 WA Education Awards.
Ninety seven nominations were received, across all five categories.
The award winners were:
- Excellence in school leadership – Two Rocks Primary School
- Excellence in teaching and learning (primary) – Brabham Primary School
- Excellence in teaching and learning (secondary) – Manea Senior College
- Excellence in cultural responsiveness - Wananami Remote Community School
- Excellence in disability and inclusion - Joondalup Education Support Centre.

Excellence in school leadership
Two Rocks Primary School was recognised and awarded for its commitment to its inclusive, collective approach to leadership. Staff collaborate on how best to improve student outcome as they are collectively responsible for every student’s success.

Excellence in teaching and learning (primary)
Brabham Primary School was awarded for its excellence in teaching and learning (primary) through innovative learning programs. It provides a variety of experiences and is committed to engaging and collaborating with the community.

Excellence in teaching and learning (secondary)
Manea Senior College was awarded for its excellence in teaching and learning (secondary) as it continues to provide tremendous education pathways for its students and fosters community partnerships.
It offers a unique pathway to vital health-related careers for students through their school-based health and medical specialist program.

Excellence in cultural responsiveness
One of two new award categories this year was for excellence in cultural responsiveness.
Wananami Remote Community School, located in the Kimberley, is proud of the relationships it has within its local community. These provide a culturally safe and engaging learning environment for students.

Excellence in disability and inclusion
Another category debuting in this year’s awards acknowledges schools that demonstrate excellence in meeting the diverse needs of students, parents, families, and communities.
And none are doing it better than Joondalup Education Support Centre.
The school was awarded for its range of quality programs shaped to each child’s individual needs and abilities.
