Life at Cyril Jackson Senior Campus
Teachers at Cyril Jackson Senior Campus are highly experienced at helping international students achieve their academic goals. This includes students who need additional support to improve their English language skills. The IEC at Cyril Jackson is embedded within the mainstream school and promotes respectful, cross-cultural relationships. As well as learning English, students participate actively in whole-school specialist subject areas. Completing IEC and transitioning to Year 11 and 12 gives students a comprehensive understanding of Australian culture and provides them with the best foundation for further education within Australia.
The unique academic environment, with no uniform, no bell and being on a first name basis with the teachers, breaks down the traditional high school structure to support students to achieve their potential. The campus is open to international students who want to complete Year 11 and 12 courses. Students have the option to complete different streams of study, which provide different pathways to university, further training or employment.
In addition to the IEC course, Cyril Jackson Senior Campus offers a broad collection of Year 11 and 12 ATAR and General courses as well as Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificates to help students on their way to university, further training or into the workforce. Students will also find a selection of Foundation courses to help strengthen their knowledge and skills.
Support for students
The school makes sure students have everything they need to succeed. A Student Services Team helps students with studying, course counselling, career planning and personal wellbeing. In 2022, Cyril Jackson won the CISWA International Education Initiative of the Year award for the support offered to international students.
The campus also has psychologists and mentors to support students, as well as a team of Education Assistants who speak a wide range of languages for classroom and other support. There is guidance for students who want to pursue university or vocational pathways and opportunities for students to access work experience, training and visits to universities.

Settling in
Every new student is paired with an established student who usually shares a language with the new student. They help them travel to school, make friends and understand life in Perth.
All IEC students are provided with Orientation support, where they learn about healthcare, public transport and personal well-being. The school also runs programs that help students develop social and emotional skills that will help them succeed at school and in their working life.
