A total of $1.6 billion will be invested towards both new and improved infrastructure for public schools over the next four years.

The investment in infrastructure will help cater for increased enrolments in Perth’s growing suburbs, ensuring contemporary facilities are provided to our students.

Piara Waters Senior High School will receive $73.2 million for their second stage of development. This will more than double the school’s current capacity, to a total of 1,650 students and include specialised facilities to support a comprehensive senior secondary curriculum from 2027.

Two brand new primary schools are set to open their doors in 2026, in Wellard East and Wungong, with $28.4 million going towards those builds.

Long-term upgrades are also coming, with $41.8 million dedicated to maintenance and $79.6 million for flexible transportable buildings, to ensure schools can adapt and grow with the needs of local communities.

Also planned is a $12 million investment in a cutting-edge modular classroom block for Highgate Primary School and some exciting plans for a new inner-city primary school in East Perth.

Investment continues on public education infrastructure.

Earlier this month, Jilbup Primary School in Hammond Park was officially opened.

The $27 million project includes the necessities to support general learning, as well as an enclosed undercover area, canteen, sports store, library and staffroom block, administration building, hard courts, oval, playgrounds, parking, and dental therapy centre.

The school runs a specialised autism learning program and has a dedicated inclusive education classroom for students with special educational needs.

Henley Brook Primary School, Westminster Primary School and Education Support Centre, Dianella Secondary College, Lynwood Senior High School and South Bunbury Education Support Centre have all recently either opened or had major upgrades completed.
