Rocks & Rhubarb, the winner of John Curtin College of the Arts’ battle of the bands competition, recently performed at the annual Fremantle Long Table Dinner.
The dinner was first held in 2016. It’s now supported by many local companies and organisations, with the common goal to raise money for St Patrick’s Community Support Centre.
This year, guests were treated to a three-course dinner, paired with wines and craft beer while being entertained by the likes of Rocks & Rhubarbs.
“We feel so privileged to get to be a part of this incredible event, and to be involved with St Pat's fundraising for resources and services for those facing homelessness,” a representative of the band said.
“Especially in the midst of the housing crisis, we think it's important for these conversations and disparities to remain at the forefront of the public's mind and we are in awe of St Pat's work!”
The five-piece band was joined by Circus WA, and local artists Oats Supply.
Proceeds from the event are used to provide more than 26,000 meals, 7,500 showers and more than 300 units of accommodation to people who were faced with homelessness this year.
The dinner was hosted by The National Hotel in partnership with St Patrick’s Community Support Centre.
