Teaching scholarships

If you want to become a teacher and get some support to study at university, a scholarship might be the perfect fit for you.

We offer a range of support and development opportunities for our pre-service teachers. Once you've completed your university studies, if you work with us as a graduate teacher, you can access a comprehensive induction program and other opportunities like the Advanced Graduate Program.

Bob Hawke Aboriginal teacher scholarships 

If you are an aspiring Aboriginal secondary teacher, check out the undergraduate and post-graduate Bob Hawke Aboriginal teacher scholarships. These 2 scholarships are offered each year by the Department of Education. 

Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships

The Australian Government Department of Education offers Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships. These support new teaching students to meet study costs, in exchange for teaching in public schools or early learning settings after graduation. 

Scholarships of up to $40,000 per student are available for full-time undergraduate initial teacher education (ITE) students ($10,000 per year for a four-year qualification).  

Up to $20,000 is available for full-time postgraduate ITE students ($10,000 per year for a two-year qualification).

University scholarships 

Universities in Western Australia offer a variety of scholarships including those specifically for teaching or education courses, and those that are open to a range of degrees, including teaching and education. 

Scholarships are often open to students currently enrolled at the university. There are scholarships for undergraduate or postgraduate studies and also for both domestic and international students. The best way to find scholarships you might be eligible for is to search each of the university websites using the filters that apply to you:
